Hands grasping sunHyperbaric Chamber in Statesboro

We’re excited to announce the newest addition to our facility, Statesboro’s first Hyperbaric Chamber for oxygen therapy!

The Hyperbaric Chamber is an excellent resource for those suffering from neuromuscular diseases such as multiple sclerosis and muscular dystrophy. In addition, veterans have seen immense success in utilizing hyperbaric chambers to address issues stemming from post-traumatic stress. This type of oxygen therapy has also helped children with autism remain calm and focused.

The Hyperbaric chamber requires a doctor’s prescription and typically consists of ten one-hour long visits, but can span up to forty visits if required. Check with your healthcare provider today to see if the hyperbaric chamber is available to you as a health option.

Preparing for Your Visit

Prepare for your first visit by choosing comfortable clothing that you can sit in for an extended period of time. Feel free to bring tablets or phones and watch a movie. The chamber is a zip-up apparatus attached to the end of a bed that the patient will sit upright on. Please remember to use the restroom prior to beginning your session to avoid discomfort. No food or drink is allowed in the chamber unless permitted for health reasons. In addition, no flammable or sharp items are allowed inside the chamber.

The side effects are very minor. Expect ear pressure to adjust similarly to how it would on an airplane. Clients may feel an uncomfortable fullness in the ears.

Health Benefits

Hyperbaric Chambers oxygenate the blood and circulate fresh oxygen to wounds, speeding up the healing process. The technology can also help with relaxation, multiple forms of arthritis, sports injuries, burns, and open wounds. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy heals soft tissue faster and aids with autism, down syndrome, and PTSD. Freshly oxygenated blood stimulates the immune system and can help with auto-immune disorders such as lupus and bone disorders such as osteoporosis.

The benefits of these chambers don’t end there. They have been known to help with a multitude of other issues including burns, wound healing, vascular problems, cancer, heart issues and cardiac diseases, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, lyme disease, nerve pain and neuropathy, stroke complications, Parkinsons, alzheimers and more.
